He is "that hero! " Jackson loves to be Larry Boy, the Veggie Tales' cucumber supehero. His grandparents made him this helmet, which he wears constantly, along with his cape ("It's blue, but I like to pretend it's purple, Mommy.") Today, he added a "yellow belt" and some blue (we pretend they're purple) socks. Those super-suction ears provide us with quite a lot of fun.

Delaney loves to be involved in any family project. We recently washed the car and so there she was - still in her PJs, helping us scrub and especially rinse. She's too cute in her sunglasses!
Jackson broke-in his new birthday cooking gear immediately and the dogs benefited. Jackson and Nate made dog biscuits. Could he look prouder?
Here are all the kids gathering their loot from the pinata - even Delaney got in on the action. (She was in her PJs and ready for bed, but couldn't stand to miss the grand finale.)
The treasure chest revealed the kids treasure chests (that they decorated when they first arrived) filled with goodies, as well as a pinata! Here's Jackson giving it a good whack!
The treasure hunt took us all over the backyard, to the mailbox, through the house and back again. The kids took turns holding the clues and figuring them out - everyone had a blast!
Here's the proud Daddy. He worked hard - making the pirate ship, twisting balloon swords, serving food, and keeping Delaney safe from all the little pirates.

They were hungry little pirates. We fed them well before we sent them on a treasure hunt!
For Jackson's birthday party, we were overrun with little pirates. They got thier pirate uniforms on, made treasure chests and played in their ship. In this picture, Jackson has just walked the plank into the dangerous, shark-infested waters. His friend, Tyler, is ensuring that he doesn't try to climb back up the "plank".
Jackson's actual birthday fell in the middle of the week, so we went bowling with some friends at lunch that day (so Daddy could come too) and then that night we let him open his family presents. I love the look of joy/anticipation on his face as he opens his first present.
Delaney is constantly trying to do whatever her big brother does - she climbs and jumps and chases. She is also so sweet too - putting her "bay-bays" to sleep and softly petting them. This is from the park, chasing after Jackson one day.
This is a recent shot from the "Sandy Park." Jackson is such a little boy now - climbing all over the place and pretending constantly to be a cowboy, or Larry Boy, or a pirate, or a dog, etc.
